U.S. economy remains strong despite fears of inflation

U.S. President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on March 7 was a prime-time test of his ability to connect with voters about the economy. The economy is strong and yet polls going into his speech suggested voters aren’t convinced – especially over lingering inflation. So the latest job numbers released hours after Biden spoke are timely, as Owen Fairclough reports.
