The death toll from flooding in southern Brazil has reached 100 and many areas of the state of Rio Grande do Sul remain cut off from help.
Intense rescue operations are underway with the use of helicopters.

The death toll from flooding in southern Brazil has now reached 107, while more than 100 people remain missing.
The floodwaters in the state of Rio Grande do Sul are slowly receding –but the human drama is still unfolding.
