One of the world’s biggest electric vehicles makers, China’s BYD, launched a new plug-in hybrid truck in Mexico on Tuesday, May 14. It’s called the Shark and it will compete in the auto industry sector traditionally dominated by the United States and Japan. BYD’s announcement came hours after U.S. President Joe Biden announced a 100% tariff on Chinese-made electric vehicles.
