Boeing CEO grilled on Capitol Hill over safety standards on aircrafts

Boeing’s Chief Executive will at the end of the year depart one of America’s companies mired in crisis, but not before facing the music over new whistleblower revelations about years of lax safety standards.

Dave Calhoun was heavily criticized for hiding internal problems with its quality controls and safety protocols that accident investigators have linked to crashes, emergency landings and other incidents, involving its 737 Max jet.

Calhoun faced lawmakers for the first time since revelations emerged about years of lax safety standards at the aircraft manufacturer.
