Gymnast Sunisa “Suni” Lee achieved a first three years ago in Tokyo, becoming the first Asian-American to win gold in the Olympics’ All-Around competition.
It came after teammate Simone Biles withdrew from the competition due to the ’twisties,’ a mental block that causes gymnasts to lose their position while in midair.
Lee told CGTN’s Dan Williams that she is determined to defend her title and continue to inspire other Asian-Americans to follow their dreams.
