Donald Trump told his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy he’d join a three-way meeting with Vladimir Putin during an extraordinary crisis meeting on Monday, Aug. 18. The U.S. President hosted Zelenskyy and European leaders at the White House to discuss ending Russia’s conflict with Ukraine.
It follows Trump’s meeting with Putin that alarmed both Ukraine and European leaders about the terms of any peace deal. Owen Fairclough reports.
