Peru’s new mega port expected to transform global trade routes

A new mega port is nearing completion on Peru’s Pacific coast. It’s being billed as the gateway to Asia. Built by the Chinese state-owned company Cosco Shipping, the multi-purpose port just north of the Peruvian capital Lima in Chancay is expected to open at the end of the year. Supporters say it will transform trade between South America and Asia. Dan Collyns reports from the small fishing town, where the port is being built.
