Hong Kong lawmaker on how riots affect the city

In the wake of unprecedented riots, the destructive occupation of Polytechnic University, and legislation recently passed by the United States Congress – The world’s eyes are still on Hong Kong.

As a part of his current assignment, CGTN’s Nathan King spoke to Regina Ip, member of the Executive and Legislative Councils of Hong Kong. She also served as Secretary for Security from 1998 to 2003.

Among many things, they spoke on the destabilizing effect riots have had on the city, lessons learned by government and police, and how recent actions by the U.S. Congress – may have a negative impact on the cause it claims to support.
