Republicans on course to keep control of Senate

The U.S. presidential election remained too close to call on Wednesday with a handful of key states still to declare results.

But the picture for the U.S Congress is getting clearer.

Republicans appear on course to keep their majority in the Senate, while Democrats have retained control of the lower House of Representatives.

That means whoever becomes the next president will need to work with both parties to help millions of voters through a surging COVID-19 pandemic.
