U.S. employers beat even the most optimistic forecasts to add more than half a million jobs in January.

Employment numbers released on Friday suggest the economy continues to weather the inflation crisis and big layoffs in the tech sector.

And the numbers also justify the central bank’s decision to raise benchmark interest rates less than in previous months to cool high inflation.
