UN Security Council approves sending a multinational force to Haiti

The UN Security Council voted on Monday to send a Kenya-led multinational force to Haiti to help the police there fight spiraling gang violence.

More than 10,000 people have fled their homes in parts of Haiti’s Central department, according to the United Nations’ migration agency, after a series of recent gang attacks and a growing humanitarian crisis.
