Carnival is in high gear across Brazil and Tuesday night, Feb. 13. One big parade was dedicated to celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between Brazil and China.

As the day of the parade draws near, Carnival artists at Cidade Jardim Samba School – in Belo Horizonte, capital of Brazil’s Minas Gerais State – rush to finalize the floats and costumes for the big night.

This year, they are celebrating the friendship between Brazil and China, as the two countries mark five decades of diplomatic relations.
