Trump: Testing showing U.S. has most COVID-19 cases “Badge of Honor”

U.S. President Donald Trump said that testing revealing the high number of cases of COVID-19 is a “Badge of Honor.”

Trump said the U.S. is leading all countries with over 1.5 million cases is because the country “does more tests than anybody.”

The U.S. also leads with over 91,000 deaths.

Talking with reporters, Trump also defended his taking of malaria drug, hydroxychloroquine, to prevent coronavirus. The drug has not shown to combat the virus is numerous studies.

Addressing concerns that Trump’s example could lead people to misuse the drug, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said that “tens of millions of people around the world have used this drug for other purposes,” including malaria prophylaxis. She emphasized, “You have to have a prescription. That’s the way it must be done.”
