In May, Cyril Ramaphosa was sworn in for a five-year term as president of South Africa.
Ramaphosa faces major challenges, including an ailing economy and high unemployment. He is also dealing with controversial issues like land reform, crime and corruption.
But, he insists South Africa can prevail. And he said “a new era” has dawned for his country.
So, what can we expect from President Ramaphosa as he sets about dealing with all of these issues?
To discuss all of this:
- Vuyolwethu Zungula is president of the African Transformation Movement.
- Lawson Naidoo is executive director of the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution.
- Abdullahi Boru Halakh is an African policy analyst.
