China is leading applications for blockchain patents. The push for the technology received a boost in October, when President Xi Jinping called for a greater adoption of blockchain.
During a meeting of the Communist Party of China, President Xi stressed expediting the development of blockchain and detailed ways in which the Chinese government would support research and standardization of the technology.
