The Heat: 100 days to Beijing Winter Olympics

Olympics

This February, Beijing will host international athletes for the 2022 Winter Olympics, and become the first city to host both a winter and summer games. In a sign that China’s capital city is ready, the Beijing Organizing Committee released the designs Tuesday of the 2022 medals. Named Tongxin, meaning “Together as one”- the medals are a blend of traditional Chinese culture and the Olympic spirit. This week, organizers are also testing out venues for the 15-sporting events to make sure everything is ready to go. COVID-19 safety measures will also take priority, as CGTN’s Cui Hui’ao explains in this report from Beijing.
