Over the years, China has developed diplomatic ties with 53 African countries.
It has sent medical supplies, helped build infrastructure and supported economic growth and entrepreneurship as part of its Belt and Road Initiative. Beijing now is looking to promote its Global Security Initiative to enhance stability and peace in the region.
