A new report from United Nations agencies shows that women today are more likely than ever to survive childbirth, but they warn progress could be undone due to widespread cuts to aid.
The UN released its material mortality report on Monday, World Health Day, kicking off a year-long campaign focused on the health of mothers worldwide and their newborn children.
