U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to move forward with more sweeping tariffs, including a 50% duty on Chinese imports. In response, Beijing stated it is ready to fight until the end if the U.S. persists in waging a trade war.
As many as 70 governments have reportedly approached Washington to roll back the levies and negotiate new deals.
