After days of intense negotiations, the Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives passed a sweeping tax and spending bill that would enact much of President Trump’s policy agenda and add to the country’s trillions of dollars of debt. 

The bill faces an uncertain future in the Senate, where Republicans have far different ideas about what should be in the legislation.
