It’s only June but already 2025 is one for the record books for extreme heat in the United States.

This week, cities from Boston to New York City and Washington, D.C. experienced sweltering heat and humidity threatening infrastructure and public health.

Meanwhile in China, a cleanup is underway after severe flooding devastated Rongjiang County in southwest China’s Guizhou Province where at least six people were killed.
