Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his coalition were victorious by a landslide in the Japanese parliamentary elections Sunday. Amidst Japanese economic concerns, The Heat explores whether Abe be able to turn around his nation’s economy in the next few years.

Abe made headlines last month when he dissolved Japan’s parliament and called for new elections. Despite low voter turnout, Abe’s Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party won two-thirds majority in the Parliament’s Lower House this weekend.
