They call themselves the most moral army in the world. Israeli Defense Forces, come under fire. Controversial testimony from former members of the IDF has sparked outrage among Palestinians as well as Israelis.

Startling new revelations from a group of former soldiers have the world talking about the Israeli Defense Forces. How are Israelis responding to the latest allegations? CCTV-America’s Stephanie Freid has the latest on the ground in Tel Aviv.

Last summer’s war on Gaza claimed the lives of more than two-thousand Palestinians and nearly 70 Israelis. New testimony from ex-soldiers has reopened, old wounds. Joining CCTV-America from San Francisco to discuss the revelations is Avner Gvaryahu, a former IDF soldier and a member of the Israeli human rights organization, Breaking the Silence. Also with the Heat in the studio is Laila El-Haddad. She is a Palestinian activist and journalist.

That’s what one soldier had to say about his reasons for breaking his silence. For more on an opposing view, the Heat spoke to Hen Mazzig from Tel Aviv. Hen was a former humanitarian officer in the Israeli Defense Forces and now he’s the Israel education director for the non-profit.
