Moscow promised it would retaliate against Kyiv, after Ukraine pulled off a coordinated drone strike on Russian air bases.

On Friday, Russia delivered with an overnight bombardment across Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the strikes involved more than 400 drones and 40 missiles, and called on the United States and European allies to put pressure on Russia to end the fighting.
