Iran’s reformist President Hassan Rouhani easily won the country’s presidential election, fending off a challenge by conservative hardliner Ebrahim Raisi.
The election was seen largely as a referendum on the incumbent president’s policy of opening up Iran to the rest of the world and reforming the country’s economy.
