Syrian government forces are on “high alert” for U.S. military action in response to the suspected chemical weapons attack in the rebel-stronghold of Douma, near Damascus on Saturday.
Images showing what looks like evidence of chemical weapons use in Syria has prompted an international outcry, including heated debate at the United Nations.
