The Heat: U.S. mass shooting

The Heat

Another U.S. city is reeling from a mass shooting. At least seven people were killed and dozens injured when a gunman perched on a rooftop opened fire on a parade in Highland Park, Illinois.

A 21-year-old white male is in custody. Police say he fired more than seventy rounds into the crowd below. It comes just over a week after the U.S. Congress approved new gun legislation that expanded background checks and funding for mental health resources, but failed to address assault weapons.
