The Paris Olympics Games ended with a spectacular finale. Over the past two weeks athletes from around the world came together in a celebration of the human spirit. Records were set and broken; China had its best Olympic games since 2008 winning a whopping 40 gold medals. But the games were overshadowed by accusations of doping against China by the U.S. and western media.
For its part, China’s anti-doping agency hit back, accusing the West of double standards and calling for increased testing and scrutiny of U.S. athletes.
