Climate change is accelerating with devastating effects across the globe from sweltering heat and wildfires to torrential storms. 2024 was the hottest year on record and a new forecast says rising temperatures will likely break more heat records in the next five years.
The World Meteorological Organization says we could break the 1.5 Celsius threshold again, threatening the most ambitious target of the Paris Climate Accord.
