Palestinians seeking aid in Gaza have been attacked and killed for a third day in a row, according to medics and officials in the south of the territory. Hamas says at least 27 people were shot dead, and many others wounded by Israeli fire, at a food distribution point in Rafah.
Israel says its troops fired “near individual suspects” who failed to heed warnings to retreat and that it is investigating. The aid centers are being run by a private group backed by the U.S. and Israel, an operation that’s repeatedly been criticized by the United Nations.
