The United Nations warns of irreversible consequences as famine takes hold in Gaza City. More than a half million people are now at risk for starvation, destitution and death.  

Meanwhile, Israel intensified airstrikes in Gaza city and is preparing another ground offensive operation. Palestinians have been urged to evacuate.
